A. WESTSIDE CITIES MOBILITY - NEXT PHASE
Update on the Westside Cities Mobility efforts which focus on practical short and long term transportation solutions such as multimodal facilities, capacity expansion, better transit linkages, incentives for mixed-use development, regional light-rail, other transit strategies, and financial considerations. Request for direction on long term solutions and development of action plans.
B. SUBMISSION OF MOBILITY STUDY AS A CANDIDATE FOR AWARD BY THE WESTSIDE URBAN FORUM.
Submission in the category of "Theoretical Study or Policy" under development which addresses issues of significance to the Westside.
C. JOINT PROJECTS
Information in response to direction received February 28, 2003. Staff compiled a list of collaborative projects undertaken by the Westside Cities and Los Angeles in the priority work areas.
D. MTA WESTSIDE CENTRAL SERVICE SECTOR UPDATE
Proposal for division of 9 seats between Los Angeles (4 seats), Westside Cities (3 seats), County Supervisors (2 seats). Malibu request for rotation.
E. LEGISLATIVE UPDATE AB 136 (KEHOE) WORKERS COMPENSATION LEGISLATION
Recommendation to oppose AB 136 which seeks State Legislative Authority to allow extension of Safety Employees' Leave of Absence Benefits on Full Salary
F. STATE LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS FOR STATE/LOCAL FISCAL REFORM: OPPOSE AB 1221
Fiscal Policy recommendations to guide participation in the League of California Cities Special Meeting May 15, 2003 concerning resolution of State Budget Crisis and Reform of State - Local Fiscal Relationship and Recommendation to oppose AB 1221 which proposes to swap a portion of City Sales Tax Revenue.
G. LOS ANGELES PROPOSAL TO EXTEND COLD WEATHER HOMELESS SHELTERS
Request to discuss City of Los Angeles endeavor to extend Cold Weather Homeless Shelters year-round and how the Westside COG might be of assistance.
