Supervisor Kuehl and the County of Los Angeles is proud to sponsor AB 653 (Bloom), which would allow Los Angeles County to lease a portion of the West Los Angeles Armory to build a year-round bridge housing program.
The bill will be heard in the Assembly Accountability and Administrative Review Committee on April 10th at 9:00 am. This bill would only authorize the state to enter into a lease with the County, it does not approve or deny the project at this time. The details of the project will be reviewed and approved between the National Guard and Los Angeles County after extensive community process concludes. Passage of AB 653 is necessary to move the project forward within a reasonable timeline and we need your support!
Please help Los Angeles County’s efforts to pass AB 653 into law by submitting letters of support and forwarding to your networks for support.
Please submit letters through the California Legislature Advocates Portal and send a copy of your completed letters to firstname.lastname@example.org. Deadline for letters is Wednesday, April 3, 2019. However, the County can continue to receive letters after that deadline as it will provide many more opportunities for support in this process.
